Trying Time

I had hoped to stamp earlier today but I just couldn't get to it until after dinner so my post is a bit later than usual.  When I saw the challenge on SCS today to use a bird on your card I knew just the set I would use...

To create this watercolor look, I color directly onto the stamp and then spritz it with water--so fast and easy, yet so beautiful!

Stamps: Nature Silhouettes-images, Music Background, Jesus Cares-sentiment (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps)
Paper: Little Miss (BoBunny)
Ink: Crayola markers, versafine, chalk inks for sponging
Accessories: border punch, pearls, ribbon

Have a lovely evening!

Easy Peasy Sketch

I am hosting the Splitcoast sketch again today.  I decided to go with a layout I use fairly often.....it's simple and fun and helps to use up those scraps of designer paper you have left over from previous cards.

Here are two cards I made for the sketch....

For this card I used the lovely Hello Luscious papers from Basic Grey.  The image and sentiment are from the Treasured stamp set released in April.  You can't see it in the picture, but I spritzed the image panel with Glimmer Mist to give it a bit of shimmer.  It looks very pretty in real life :). I machine stitched each of the panels and around the card and added some ribbon and pearls to finish it off.

For this card I used some old Marrakech papers from Basic Grey.  I love using up my old stash :).....it makes me feel better about buying NEW paper ;).  The image and sentiment are from the Thoughtful Rhubarb stamp set.  Isn't he a sweet teddy?   I just love his nose.  For this one I went a step further....I machine stitched the panels and around the card and added ribbon, but I also added a button, thread and a tag sentiment.

That's all for me for now....

Be a blessing to someone today and you, too, will be blessed :).

Silhouette Flowers

What a weekend!!!  I finally had a few minutes to just sit and relax (which in my case means stamp).  I was gone most of yesterday, then my youngest had two friends sleep over who also came to church with us this morning.  They went home this afternoon so before we head back out for choir practice I thought I'd get a smidge of stamping in :).  I went to my old faithful, SCS, to see what the challenge was for today.  The gallery we were given to CASE today is amazing.  I had a hard time choosing because I love all of Heather's work.....she has such a simple yet beautiful style.

This is the card I chose to CASE from her gallery: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2164273?&cat=500&ppuser=135086  It was PERFECT for a new set I've been playing with :).

For my card I changed the card base from white to kraft and stamped the sentiment at the bottom instead of the top. I also used different stamps and colors.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Nature Silhouettes (images) & Timeless Classic (sentiment)-Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
Paper: kraft CS & white CS
Ink: my son's crayola markers :)

For the Bride & Groom

Hi there!  I'm back again with another card from our May release.  I used the Music Background and Wedding Cake sets. The bottom portion of the card was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I stamped the background (2nd generation) then add the ribbon and Copic colored cake image.  The rosette embellishment was white so I colored it with a Copic marker to match the blue music background and the blue accents on the cake.  I finished the card by rounding the bottom corners.

Here are the sets I used...

Were you able to hop along with us yesterday for the May release?  The DT shared some fabulous creations.  There is still time to comment on each of the blogs for a chance to win the ENTIRE LAY RELEASE :).  We are also giving away one set from the release for each of the three release party challenges, so I hope you'll play along :).  If you haven't seen the full reveals of the 7 new sets, you can see them HERE.

Well, that is all for me today.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps May Release Blog Hop

It's that time again!!  The Sweet 'n Sassy DT has put together another fabulous blog hop to showcase our May release with you!!  Be sure to comment as you hop along because we are giving away the whole release to one lucky person!!

If you didn't start on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog, head back there now so you can follow along each stop. You won't want to miss a thing!!

I have two VERY different cards to share with you today :).

First up is a card that features our newest Cocoa Mouse set, All Star Cocoa.  This set is perfect for those men (young & old) in your life!

I kept this card pretty simple, cuz guys don't like a lot of frill ;).  I did add some seam binding ribbon, a button and some twine, but I think it still passes for a guy card.

Next up is a card featuring a new collage set I designed called Wedding Collage.  I love this image and even though it was very intimidating to me at first, I love how it turned out :).

For this one I added lots of extra frills :).....pearls for her jewelry, pearls on some of the flowers, sparkle on her dress and veil with a glitter pen, plus embossed paper, lacey border and ribbon.

That's all for me for today.  Your next stop is my super amazing friend Dina Kowal.  Speaking of Dina Kowal.....we had the opportunity to get together for breakfast last week while she and her family were in the area.....here's a pic we snapped in the van after breakfast...

Ok, now on with the hop :)!!  ENJOY!!

April Release Blog Hop

Our April release day is here and that means a blog hop and release party :).....if you are just starting the hop here, head back to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog so you can start from the beginning.

For now I have just two cards to share, but I will have more later tonight at the release party :).

First up is a fun card for a little boy's birthday featuring our favorite Cocoa Mouse in a new set called Special Boy Cocoa. I used the SNSS stars and star border dies. The fun papers are from BoBunny and the baker's twine is from The Twinery. I added some Stickles to the stars for a bit of sparkle :).

My next card features a new set called Flower Field....it works wonderfully as a background or a main image. The sentiment is from Dina's new set, Graceful Calla Lily. The papers are from Echo Park and I used the SNSS small scallop die plus some beautiful ribbon I picked up at one of my favorite stores, Joys of Life Scrapbooking.

Ok, your next stop is Jessica Fick. She's got some great stuff to share with you! See you tonight at the party at 8pm EST in our Splitcoaststampers Member Company Forum. We'll be sharing full reveals of the new stamps and dies, plus hosting a few fun challenges with prizes and lots of friendly chatter :).
